Born in New York City, AJ Costa is a young singer, actor, producer and small business owner whose performances on stage have delighted audiences across the West. Beginning his entertainment career in cinematography in Arizona, he soon found his passion in musical theatre at the Scottsdale Desert Stages Theatre where he lead over 3 musical theatre seasons totaling over 9 shows.
After graduating from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme in 2009, AJ completed his Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Performance at Chapman University while managing the formation of a new media production company specializing in computer and console gaming-SimpleBox. Outside of the entertainment industry, AJ is an avid golfer maintaining a < 2.4 handicap, and hoping to compete in the near future in amateur events and beyond.
Since the IB Programme, AJ has been involved with numerous volunteer organisations including Invisible Children, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), and Walk Now! for Autism Speaks when, in 2012, he produced a film advocating Autism awareness. In 2013, AJ visited with Congressmen on Capitol Hill as part of the 2013 LLS Mission Day advocating with cancer survivors for congressional action to increase accessibility and affordability of life-saving cancer treatments.
Along with passionate aspirations to sing and act in New York City, AJ's interests also lie in political science, film, literature, history, and global humanitarianism.
